The Christmas Tree

Mr Beaver took the little ones deep into forrest to find the perfect Christmas tree to take centre stage in their living room this year. After several hours of hiking amongst the trees, there it was, the most perfect tree Mr Beaver had ever seen.

"This is it kids, it's absolutely perfect!"
"You don't think it's slightly on the large side Poppa?"

Mr Beaver began sawing the bottom of the trunk. He asked the children to stand way back and out of the way, but they desperately wanted to help. Michael suggested they help by pushing the tree a little to help it fall.
"TIMBEAAAAAAHHHHHHR!"
"Oops, sorry Poppa!"

After much struggling and several splinters later, Mr Beaver managed to get the wonderful tree on top of the car. They drove through the town, attracting quite a lot of attention from the other Sylvanians. Mr Beaver felt proud as punch.

"Everyone is admiring our beautiful Christmas tree, kids!"
"I'm not sure that's what they're doing, Poppa"

Just as they arrived home it started to snow. Mr Beaver asked for everyones help to get the tree inside, but no matter how hard they pushed, shoved and pulled, it just wouldn't fit through the front door.

"Maybe if I just took the door off it's hinges I could..."
"Oh no you don't MR B! The tree will have to stay outside!"

It looked like they would have to decorate the tree outside this year. Mrs Beaver had a grand idea...

"I'm sorry family, I really thought it would fit"
"Oh don't worry Mr B, I have a great idea. Let's have Christmas outside!"
"YAY! Why would we want to be stuck inside when it's so beautiful outside?"

So it was decided, Christmas was going to be outside this year. But Michael and Jerome were quite concerned. What if Father Christmas went down the chimney, couldn't see the tree so wouldn't leave them any presents?! Michael decided to make sure Santa would know.

"That should do it Jerome, I'm pretty sure Santa can see it from the sky!"

But there was no need to worry, Santa knew exactly where the tree was. The outside Christmas was proving to be a splendid idea. The Christmas dinner was extremely delicious, but half way through Mr Beaver suggested that maybe they ate the rest inside. everybody was starting to loose feeling in their hands.

"Well it's been rather lovely and a nice change of scenery, but how about we go warm our bottoms in front of a nice warm fire!"

"Merry Christmas Everyone!"

Laundry Day

After a busy summer, the house was finally quiet and Mr Beaver could catch up on chores that had been put off for some time. He tightened his apron, pulled out his feather duster and got to it.

"Boy oh Boy the living room is dusty!"

Once downstairs was spick and span, he headed upstairs. Now Mrs B always did the laundry, she was quite clear that Mr B should leave that job to her. But Mr B had other ideas.

"I think I'll surprise Mrs B and do all the white sheets, she'll be so pleased!"

Mr B loaded the machine with as many white sheets as he could fit in. He poured in the washing detergent and softener, like he had seen Mrs B do, then pressed 'GO'. But just as the machine had started to fill with water, he noticed something else in there with the white sheets.

"Oh look, my missing red sock!
I've been looking for you everywhere.
How on earth did you get in there?
Oh well, Im sure it will be fine"

Mr B was quite pleased with himself, he had all the washing out to dry as Mrs B came home from the village with Jerome. But the sheets did look little different to when they went into the machine, they now had a slight tint of pink. Mr B was sure Mrs B wouldn't notice.

"Mrs Beaver what happened to the sheets!?"
"I found my red sock Mrs B, look!"
"Oh, I can see that!"

Maybe next time Mr Beaver will listen to Mrs Beaver and leave the laundry to her.

Traffic Jam

Well, you'll be surprised to find out that the traffic jam jammer, is little Michael himself. Whilst riding down the high-street with his sister, Renee, he spotted a shiny piece of delicious candy.

"oooh, free candy!"

Luckily, Renee pulled him out of the way before the traffic built up to much, and caused even more bother to all the Sylvanians trying to get home after a long day at work.

"but... but... my free candy!"

Renee was also eager to get home as she'd left her bedroom in quite the mess and had spotted Mrs Beaver in the queue of traffic. So to hurry Michael along she brought him to the village store to get some candy that wasn't covered in dirt and goodness knows what else.

"Right, Michael, here's some money. Be as quick as you can.
Get yourself a lollipop or something!"
"okidokee!"

Michael was in luck, the candy-wagon was full to the brim with delicious treats. He gave the shopkeeper the money Renee had given him, and got the biggest, sweetest lollipop there was.

"There you are little one, be careful not to drop it!"

The race home was on. Renee had a lot of tidying to do before Mrs Beaver got home!

"Why didn't I tidy as I went!"

She heard Mrs Beaver come in, so she quickly hid the mess and whipped around the room with the vacuum, just as Mrs Beaver opened the bedroom door!

"I thought I heard the vacuum, it's so nice and tidy in here!...
wait a minute... what on earths this?"
"OH NO!"

But you can't fool Mrs Beaver. Renee had cut a few corners when cleaning her room.

"I'm not sure this is the best storage system, do you dear?"

Cooking up a storm

“Everybody out of the kitchen, please. I have work to do!”

Clashing and banging, sizzling and spitting, Mrs Beaver was cooking up a storm in the kitchen!

”burgers, done! Falafel, done! Pastry parcels, done! Hash browns, done!
Now for a sizzling stir fry!“
The smells coming from the kitchen were so delicious, the little ones couldn’t resist any longer. They just had to have a taste of something!

”look at those burgers, Jerome! Maybe we should have just a little taste? “
But Mrs Beaver caught the sneaky little two before they could steal a bite of anything!

“Ok boys, who would like a taste of my signature carrot cake?”
“ME!”
“ME!”

Mrs Beaver was ready for business. She was a little worried that nobody would come to taste her yummy plant creations, but she didn’t need to worry. So many of Sylvanian came to try her delicious food!

“Oh Mrs Beaver I’m so proud of you!”
“Thank you Mrs Walnut, you can have a free falafel for that!”
Getting home wasn’t so easy though. The traffic was terrible!”

“What on earth can be causing this?!?!”

To be continued...

A fixer upper

Mrs Beaver was working busily on her vegetable patch. This year she had such a wonderful harvest!

“I’m going to be making vegetable pie until Halloween at this rate!”

She was sorting through all the delicious vegetables in her green house, when an idea came to her.

“I could feed the whole of Sylvania with all these veggies... well maybe I will!”

The very next day, Mrs Beaver went out early in the morning. When she returned, she was driving the rustiest looking van you’d ever seen!

“Mrs Beaver, what on Earth is this?!?”

Mrs Beaver planned on turning the little rusty van into a mobile plant kitchen. All the veggies from her plot would be turned into beautiful fresh food for everyone in Sylvania to enjoy.

“First you have to work on the inside, then you worry about what’s on the outside!”

Mrs Beaver worked long into the night to make sure the van was in tip top shape.

“Pass me the wrench will you sweetie?... oh no Mr Beaver, that’s a screwdriver!”
“Oh right, yes... erm... what’s a wench?”

Once Mrs Beaver had the inner workings all sorted, the whole family came to help clean her up.

“Whoops! Sorry little Jerome, I got a little on your hair!”

Mr Beaver designed the most beautiful sign, and the little ones helped add the foliage to the top, Mrs B’s van was complete!

“Mrs B, your mobile plant kitchen will be a roaring success, I can feel it in my bones!”

Will you be my Valentine? and you? and you? and you?

Mrs Beaver took the boys out into the village for a spot of shopping, when Michael noticed the lovely display of valentine cards in the Applewood Store.

"Momma, could I use my pocket money to buy this for Sandy Neptune?"
"oh, of course my darling, how sweet!"
At home, Michael got to writting his Valentines. But he didn't just buy a card for Sandy Neptune. He also bought cards for Poppy Fenton, Saffron Walnut and Creme Chocolate, inviting them all to Valentines dinner!
"Renee wont mind me using her glitter and perfume for the cards.
Hopefully one of them will turn up!"
The next morning Sandy and the others all received a pink rose and card from Michael. He invited each one to dinner at the Bistro in the town.

"Momma, I have a Valentines from Michael. But it smells like ladies perfume!"
Michael waited at the door of the restaurant excited to see who would turn up. Well, they all turned up at once, Creme, Saffron, Sandy and Poppy, and they weren't very happy with him!

"Michael, did you invite all of these lovely ladies?!"
The little ladies all decided to spend their valentines together, while Michael had dinner with his Momma.

"Well, I think this all turned out for the better. The girls got a free pie,
and I get to have dinner with my favourite lady!"
"Well, I had to buy the pie, but yes, it is rather lovely"

New Year, New Me

Mr Beaver thought enough was enough. After indulging in all the treats over Christmas, it was time to get into shape.

"Thats it Mrs Beaver, New Year, New Me"

He put on his brand new trainers, filled up his water bottle and headed out for his first run of the year.

"Good Luck, Poppa. You've got this!"

Mr Beaver ran through the town as everyone cheered him on!

"Go Mr Beaver, Go!"

With all the positive vibes coming from all the Sylvanians, he decided to hit the beach and take his training to the next level.

(singing the rocky theme tune) "dadadah dadadah dadadadadah dadadadadadadaaaaaaaah"

He made it to the top of the cliff and ran all the way to the Berry Grove School school. He ran around the grounds and jumped the fence.

"Wahoo! I'm feeling on top of the word!"

But then it all got a bit much. Mr Beaver took a turn, possibly sprained his ankle and became so thirsty he almost drank from a puddle. So he limped to the shop to grab a drink.

"I'm done."

He limped all the way home.

"MR BEAVER! What on earth have you done"
"I may have overdone it for my first run, Mrs Beaver!"

Mr Beaver had an idea, something he'd read about in the sports section of the Sylvanian Times.

"Poppa, what are you doing?!"
"This is what all us athletes do after a work out, young Michael; an ice-bath!"
"but poppa, you don't even like the cold!"

He peeled his dirty clothes off and took the plunge.

"Aaaaaaah it's so cold!!!!!"

He lasted all of 2 seconds in the ice-bath. So he wrapped up in his dressing gown, put the kettle on and filled a plate full of biscuits.

"The thing is boys, life is all about balance"
"and biscuits!"
